2017 Imac + 144hz Monitor Best Settings?
I can't get this to run properly on Windows via bootcamp because the displayport is not working for some reason..... do I try different AMD drivers, get a new cable, or play it on Mac os??

Setup:

2017 Imac with i7 4.2ghz Kaby Lake, Radeaon 580 w/ 8gb ram
27" Samsung CHG70 144hz QLED Gaming Monitor
USB-C to Displayport Cable

If I use hdmi to apple adapter, the monitor works fine on windows but capped at 60hz so I get major ghosting, unplayable.

If I use usb-c to display port, I get a blank screen and it says ''system link failure" ie it's not recognizing the monitor.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Edit: Trying to play CSGO.

Why not use a DP to DP cable? Why a DP to USB-C?

2017 Imac doesn't have DP port. It has thunderbolt 3 and USB-C.

I forgot to mention the cable works on MAC, just not on Windows.

You may need to find an adapter that supports 144Hz and make sure both your monitors support 144Hz.

Hi Rick, just checking if you manage to solve this issue? As I'm also in middle of exploring getting a 144hz for my 5k imac (2017)
