OK, I found a fix.

TL;DR: type
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.apple.backgroundtaskmanagementagent/backgrounditems.btm
in a terminal, or remove that file with Finder.

The issue was indeed with Electron, so thanks Jakub for the hint. However Electron is not the only app that's affected. Running this command should fix all affected apps.

Teams (and Slack) run fine now.
