mac os users playing skyrim
i am trying to download and instal skyrim for my 2017 macbook pro, the download finished but took all 96gigs of storage in my mac so now i got an external drive and i tryed just transfering the files but now the game wont even load to instal which would be the next step. i cant figure out how to get steam to just download to game files straight to the external drive and maybe it will just find the files that way and then i can have all my room back and instal the game finally. ....any thoughts??

Skyrim is only ~11.2 GB for the game + DLCs.

You can go into the Steam settings and change the drive where Steam games files are downloaded. I have some games on one of my internal drives and some games (especially new ones) are installed on a different drive that has a lot more room. I am a Mac user (2012 Mac Pro) and play old Skyrim under Windows 7 with Bootcamp but the game and all of its DLCs and Nexus mods are all on the primary internal drive and not split between the two drives that I have my PC games on.

skyrim download on steam and into my internal and took over 79 gigs. so idk how you say its only 11 gigs. but im gonna look over crossover. in the mean time i have added my external drive to my steam account as a steam library to store files. problem is that when i hit the play button to start the download again after deleting the files to start over after adding the new library location it dosnt give me the option to choose my external as the first primary location for my files. it automatically just starts downloading into my internal.
