Ubisoft Game Launcher on MacOS Sierra 10.12.1

Hi

I'm running MacOS Sierra 10.12.1 and having trouble lauching:
--> Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction
--> Assassin's Creed 2

I've Googled and tried the various suggestions; re-downloading the Ubisoft Game Launcher, cleaning the DNS cache, clearing the Steam download cache, resetting permissions, .... Unfortunately the problem remains.

I logged a call with Ubisoft support on 04 Jan 2017 but haven't heard from them yet.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction used to work. I haven't played it in a while but bought a DLC only to discover I cannot launch it.

I've never played Assassin's Creed 2 before but am having the same problem.


The symptom is the launcher pops up as a small white rectangle followed closely by a larger white rectangle. Somtimes it flashes images for a second and then goes back to being white.


From my search it seems this problem has been around forever. I have no problem with other Steam games - only Ubisoft.


Any ideas?

Clearly Ubisoft on MacOS is not much loved <sigh>
I'm trying Steam4Win through WineBottler with marginally more success - but not all things work

Sadly not...

Guess it's best to avoid Ubi Soft games on a Mac - lesson learned <sigh>
