Where can I find my Steam downloaded game files?
Title says it all. I cannot find the actual downloaded game files that I purchased from Steam. I need to move these files to another source. As it is now I can only find the "alias" to each game file but not the actual file. I need to move these files to a different source.

So I have done some digging around and found the Steam files located under user>library>application support.

I have tried a clean install but the files automatically install in the same directory.

I tried moving all Steam files to a another hard drive and then launching from there but no dice. The Steam app auto detects that the Steam files located under user>library>application support, are missing and downloads them again to the same location. There is no option for the user to decide the location of the install.

Has anyone had success running Steam with the steam files installed somewhere besides user>library>application support?

This is a problem for users who need choice as to where steam downloaded files reside.

I am sure Steam is aware of this limiting design for Mac OS X..

Can someone from Steam comment on this issue?

I think it goes without saying I would like a fix for this.

This has been recently added. But in Steam preferences, Downloads, then click Steam Library Folders button you can start adding multiple locations.
