Steam will not quit/exit on OSX
Hello friends,

I recently picked up the new 15 inch macbook pro and am running Sierra 10.12.3. And ever since i installed Steam i seem to be unable to quit the client; both from Steam < Quit Steam as well as from CMD - Q. I read a new posts from 2-3 years ago from with this same issue but nothing recent or how to fix it. Can anyone please advise? Its rather annoying to have to force quit every time and Steam running prevents me form doing a proper shutdown of my laptop as well as takes up some (although not significant) resources in the background.

Thanks,
Trichet

interestingly and strangly enough i attempted to CMD-Q after making this post and it works just fine. Would be good to know if anyone else faces this issue at all and if Value is aware of it.
This is a known Mac Book Pro issue, to resolve this enter Big Picture mode once and that seems so solve it, more info can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/2/143387886727657027/?ctp=2
Yes you can quit Steam CMD — Q or you go to the "Apple" on left corner and go to end and go to steam and ende easly.
It's an issue on Mac mini mid-2012 as well. Sometimes it quits, often have to force quit.
never happens!!! XD!
Not to necro a 5 month old post, but I've also been having this problem on my late 2013 i7 iMac
