Steam won't start/open - Macbook Pro 2012
So the problem started again; Steam won't launch or open on my Macbook.
I've had this problem before, where uninstalling and reinstalling Steam fixed it, but this time it doesn't. (I've tried multiple times)

- Installed Steam succesfuly
- Shows up in my applications folder
- When clicked, it opens and bounces in my menu bar
- Icon suddenly disappears without showing anything (not even an update prompt)
- Nothing happens

Any other people having this issue or people with a fix?
Running El Capitan 10.11.6 on a Macbook pro from mid 2012.

Help is greatly appreciated. Train rides are getting really boring without games.
Thanks :)

I'm unaware of any issues at the moment with the Mac client and a Macbook Pro 2012. Here's a simple copy/paste that I found from a quick search that might be beneficial to you, or at least a start.

1 - Delete your /Library/Application Support/Steam/ folder. 2 - Click the Steam.app icon, and it will automagically install Steam. 3 - Afterwards, it still won't respond, but just wait, and don't close Steam. 4 - Click the word "Steam" up in the top-left corner of the screen. 5 - In the little menu that expands, click "Check for Updates". 6 - Steam should be working soon.

Thanks for the quick reply! Too bad I've got bad news: I don't even have a Steam folder inside my Application Support folder..

Use ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/

Found the folder and deleted it. Clicked the steam.app icon, but still the same problem. No "steam" in the top-left corner of the screen, just a bouncing icon and then nothing again.
