My rocket league won't open!!! (On macbook pro)

Whenever I press play for rocket league a little box shows up and says preparing to launch rocket league, but then it disappears and nothing happens. Please help me! I just got steam and I was so excited and then this happened!

All Macs lower than 10.10 are experiencing this bug. Might have to wait or update your OS. You could send an email to Steam.

So my computer says there are no more updates. How would sending steam an email help? What would I ask them?
