Best DeathMatch game for Mac?
Back in the day, I used to play Unreal Tournament and Quake Arena for hours of fun on my PC. I have a Mac now, and I am wondering what would be the best game to play DeathMatch with? Most games coming out these days seem to be pushing coop and team games. I have never got into those, though I recently picked up Day of Infamy and will probably dip my toe in that soon.

I value the play action more than the graphics of the game, (Unreal 2004 still looks fine to me). I would like a game that is not completely dead, though if I can come up with a dozen opponents of a medium sized map that would be fine. Don’t care to play a game that is overrun with Cheaters.

What about games like Call of Duty 4, Insurgency, Red Orchestra, Ballistic Overkill, Left 4 Dead 2 or the Metro series? Any great games out there that either have a good DM option in the base game, or maybe a Mod?

Thanx. I didn't know that there was a thriving community playing DeathMatch in CS:GO. I thought is was primarily a Coop team game.

In going to the discussion pages for CS:GO, I did notice a lot of people complaining that the DeathMatch portion of the game was the least developed part of the game. They were saying things like "I picked an AK47, and when I respawned I had a pistol". Still, I will try it out. Any other suggestions, like any of the games I listed or something else I should look into?

I am hoping for the best for a new Unreal Tournament for Mac, but they were supposed to release a Mac version of Unreal Tournament III, and that ended up getting canceled. Also, when looking at YouTube videos of both the PC and Mac versions of the new UT, it doesn't look like the Mac version is nearly as far along as the PC. (I would prefer to run UT in Mac os, not Bootcamp)
