Valve Hammer editor installer not working in Windows 8?

*EDIT*
managed to download the file by saving it to Program Files, NOT Program Files(86x).
But please Valve resricpt your installer please, there are alot of problems...


"Illegal character detected in the following installation path. You may not use the following characters as part of your install directory ( ? ? : * " < > | ; )" When trying to install the Hammer software. I tried installing a 32-bit software (this one is 64) but didn't find a way to choose, didn't want to go to some random sites not supported by Valve to download Hammer tough...
It has some problem with the C: and says that the folder you chosen to put it in is incorrect or something along those lines...
Does anyone have a solution, I mean my dream is to start mapping a surf map but kinda hard when you cant enter the software you know. When I installed CS:GO SDK via Library->Tools and opened a New map it said I only had the rights to look so I couldn't edit.
Any solutions, I mean help would be apprecieated alot :)

First of all, are you actually installing Hammer via Steam or from someplace else?
