My dedicated server is not appearing in the Steam Server Browser
Greetings, i have created a dedicated server using steamcmd in a vps, the server is not showing in the "Game Servers" server browser list BUT when i add it by the IP it gets added and i can view it, also if i looked it up in google i could find it through third party server browsers which means it is kinda visible but not on the steam browser which is weird.

To troubleshoot this, some additional details might be needed, such as:
  • Which game are you trying to host a server for?
  • What is the IP address?
  • Which port are you trying to use? 27015? something else?
  • What map are you loading on startup?
  • Do you have a password the server (sv_password)?
  • What region (part of the world) is the server located in?

Did you set sv_lan 0? Dumb question I know but it has tripped me up in the past

From the USA I couldn't reach that IP address at all.
Is it behind a firewall?

Yes, a good thing to check for sure.

PS: In case the server is "binding" to the wrong IP address (like 127.0.0.1), you can force it to bind to the correct IP address by one of two ways:
  • Use the +ip parameter as part of the command-line to start the server, or
  • Use the ip parameter in the game/csgo/cfg/autoexec.cfg file.

I'd also check first if the server runs on the proper interface (sudo ss -tulpn), and if that is OK, check if there's a firewall running (sudo nft list ruleset) that might block incoming traffic (mostly that'd be in the inet or ip section).

Any solutions or ideas how to troubleshoot this? Through Steam's API i can see that my server is known but not indexed. I don't understand why. https://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetServersAtAddress/v0001?addr=195.201.224.242&format=json

The server browser is broken, aka it was intentionally removed from the game and replaced with spam servers. The only way to view active CS2 servers is from websites on Google that list CS2 servers. Just Google "CS2 servers".

Again, there is no official server browser for CS2.
They would rather you not run a CS2 server, evidently.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
