[SOLVED] SRCDS blocked by Firewall
Hello everyone, I'm very new to SRCDS.
I installed it as the Wiki says, and found out it's blocked (inbound and outbound on both TCP and UDP). I have forwarded the needed ports, and now the server shows up.
Yet, I can not connect to it unless I actually disable the entire firewall - which could be very dangerous. The reason specified by logs is the SRCDS "Could not establish connection to Steam servers".

I am on CentOS with CWP, a webpanel that includes the CSF/LFD firewall.

I am just wondering what ports are still blocked, and I can't seem to find this information anywhere.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks.

Solved my own problem.
It seems like port 26901 is needed to fix this issue.
If it's not working for you:

*If you didn't forward ports as it says in the SRCDS documentation, try that first.*
Otherwise

1. Turn off your firewall
2. Open two SSH windows, one for starting the server and one for monitoring
3. On the monitoring window, login as root and install (yum install, apt-get install depending on your specific distro) the program named IPTraf-NG
4. Run that program and press "IP traffic monitor", then select the interface (usually eth0) you want to follow
5. Wait a few seconds and run the server from the other SSH window.
6. The IPTraf-NG screen will start showing a lot of information.
7. As soon as the server is up, write 'quit' in the server's window.
8. In the IPTraf-NG window, press W and then the UP arrow until you get to the top.
9. You'll see your server's IP and another IP in every line of the bottom part of the screen. Test each and every IP that isn't your server, using Google search and/or a whois service, until you find an IP related to Valve. Look at the port and copy it.
10. Open/Forward the port you just copied, enable the Firewall and try running the server. If it doesn't tell you it couldn't connect, it should be working. Try it! If it's not working, back to the IPTraf-NG list, keep trying until you find the port.

Hello, just an off-topic question..

Can you monitor udp trafic with iptraf?

I didn't get much into it, but it seems it automatically does so. I don't know how to filter it out, though. The port I specified is UDP actually.

I found it hard to monitor, it does not show udp conections on the "list", just tcp..

It does show on the botton, but is hard to even get a ip address from there, to fast, unless it logs somehow..
