Star Wars .. what side would you choose and why?

I would just be a bounty hunter really. Neither side really knows what they're doing or are well organised. At least as a bounty hunter you get paid fairly well. If it was Jedi or Sith, then I'd be a Sith because they are more liberated, while the Jedi seem to be pacifist-conservatives. However, there are more than just Jedis or Siths-too unorganised.

So Yeah Bountyhunter.

lol, I've occasionally given this aspect of Star Wars some playful thought for short periods of time, particularly where philosophy is concerned. I haven't explored the Star Wars Universe much beyond the movies and Knights of the Old Republic, so my take on this may seem over-simplified to fans of SW's Expanded Universe.

Light Side - Nihilistic philosophy based loosely on teachings found in Buddhism, The New Testament, and possibly Greco-Roman Stoicism. Heavy focus on morality (commands that only exist in the minds of moralists) and emotion-suppression. The Jedi Order seems like a hippy-dippy merger of the Military Orders of Medieval Europe and Japanese Sōhei.

Dark Side - A Punk Scene teenager's attempt at understanding Nietzschean philosophy and then trying to fuze it with Ragnar Redbeard's "Might Makes Right." Whereas the Jedi Order set themselves against life-affirmation, the Sith simply make a mockery of it. This is most clearly observed in the Sith principle of succession: the apprentice killing and taking the place of his/her master. Dark Side "passion" quickly degenerates into power-lust and and a will to conquest, culminating in crap like the Death Star and the antics of some of the students at the Sith Academy on Korriban.

I'd reject both sides of the spectrum and just be a bounty hunter (like what Dam187 said) or a merc, and stay around the gray middle. Also, out of all the characters I remember from KoToR, Canderous Ordo was one of my favorites. Least annoying party member and managed to be on the "Dark Side" of the Force spectrum without sliding into the sadism and cruelty common to the Sith.

OT: If it's supposed to be a binary choice, I guess I'd have to go with dark side because it's more "anything goes." But if bountyhunter and other gray areas are valid, I'd just be an Imperialist merchant or some ♥♥♥♥. Stay outta the messy killing business.

hahaha thanks guys.. :D yeah being in the middle would be nice hahah but i think the dark side would be fun and free but yes to much drama lol like war or death haha to rule and if you was on top some one would try to kill you to take power but on the other had the light side its great to live free and do what ever they do but it would get to borning i say lol just same ol same so thats the best thing is the bounty hunter or a shop owner or something haha but great getting to know what other people think :D nice and thanks again.

Sith, Jedi are bunch of virgin pansies that don't seem to do anything useful, hell even after 900 years Yoda couldn't grasp the basics of Galactic Basic grammar... and that thing teaches school? seriously...lol

That said Yoda is a Sith Lord... proof you say? he's always saying "only the Sith deal in absolutes" yet his other famous quote is "do or do not, there is no try" the guy is totally a Sith Lord thats been trolling the Jedi for centuries...lol why do you think he makes the Jedi swear to not have wives etc....

Actually, I was always interested in the Mandalorian/Echani/Whatever-the-third-one-was. I like how they all seperate principles that conflict with each other. So, I'd probably join one of them.

I'd take the dark side simply because the have no taboo teachings of the force.Everything you could do with the force could be learnt treading the dark side's path. However, if and when those secrets or power are discovered you could always change alignment-it's not like people are set in stone.Some could take to the dark side for a good cause, having to commit 'evils' but to venture forth for the greater good. Besides, without evil, what justification does good have? Aren't they really just two-sides to the same coin? Good and Evil that is. Light and Dark. You can't have heroes without a villain, and villains have more often than not been the cause of rapid change in history. I'd be Sith. Aside from philosophy and personal inclinations or coolness factor simply because someone's got to do it and it might as well be me because I think someone less qualified would muck it up. :P lol
