The Slender Man Myth

Introduction

Hi. maybe you've seen me on Left 4 Dead(1 and 2) Portal 2, Team Fortress 2 and like every other Valve game. If not, think if you've seen a guy named The Assassin. That was me.

Don't know if this has been brought up here yet. I couldn't find it in search so I assume it hasn't.

The Myth

Have you ever heard of the Slender Man? If not, its a paranormal creature, force of nature or fear its self, or what ever you want to call it. It is said to obduct children and adults who defend them. For what, I don't know. I've heard he takes children to the underworld early to prevent a painful death, that he eats their soles and that he pins their bodies to trees. I don't believe the Slender Man is real but my theory is that he takes them some where and keeps them to slowly drain their soles to stay alive. (please not that I don't believe in the Slender man. I just think he's a cool and creepy myth. Though if you do believe in him, I won't do anything to change that...unless I can tell it REALLY bothers you)


Appearance

Slender Man apears as a tall, skinny, faceless man in a black suit with tentacles or extra arms that come off his back or shoulders. He is also said to be able to stretch his limbs to be really long to some how intimidate his victims. I picture him with long claws just for looks.


The Movie

The Entity is a classic haunted house movie with the Slender Man in it that comes out Summer, 2013. Doesn't look like the best movie, but who knows, maybe its better than it looks. Thats how it is for a lot of movies that I didn't want to watch at first.

The Game

Slender is a simple game where you run around in a forest, collecting 8 mysterious nots with nothing but a flashlight...oh and Slender man is chasing you. Even though he just looks like some tall guy with no face, the games is REALLY scary.

My Book

I am writing abook about some children who become victims of the Slenderman. In Insomnia, the Slender Man is what my theory describes him as. A dark being that obducts children to slowly feed on their soles. Wether or not I will actually get this book finnished and published i have no idea.


Closing

If you have any ideas I could possibly use in my book, go ahead and post them here along with wether you think the Slender Man is good or evil, what you think he does and if you believe in the Slender Man and anything you really want to post about the Slenderman; questions, something I left out that you feel should be said, etc. Discus.

This can be a factor that would completely change the readers experience. I personally was never fond of the "let the reader make up backstories and reason for themself", of course a bit of such here and there is always good to keep it from being a documentary, but as for main plot there should at the very least be hints of it thrown from time to time.

I'd be more interested in a story of which someone gets in trouble for something they've done rather than just a maniac slenderman torturing people for the heck of it. Not only does it give more reason to keep reading rather than only to know what will happen next, but will also feature a whole more emotion and thought, and a good bit more for you to write about.

I will think of a reason the Slender Man is after them.

I wouldn't say that. If you don't play slender for a bit, then come back, he'll scare the crap out of you. Also depends on the person.

Give me some reasons on why it would be fake. Its not like Slender took much work form how simple it is.

No, he doesn't need a reason. You give him a reason and he stops being mysterious. If he stops being mysterious then he stops being scary.

well sence im the only one with an idea one should excape and try to help the others while the slenderman is chasing him the kid locks himself in a room with a window(locked) as the slender man is smashing the door the door breaks as the kid opens the window thts all i got ill post more and give me credit

That could make a really suspenseful scene. I'll be sure to give every one who gives me ideas credit. Plus I should let you guys know that I'm only 14 and the book might not ever see the light of day. Mostly cause I have several other ideas for books that I've had longer.
