Lara Craft and the Guardian of Light is pretty good.

That's the only game I've even tried to play in local coop, so I'm not sure what other games have it.

Opps forgot to add I already got Trine, trine 2, shadowgrounds and shadowgrounds surviver
I put together a website that lists ~150 PC games that have a Local Coop mode. Here's the URL: http://pccouchcoop.com/

Quite a few people on the Steam forums helped contribute to the list, so I can't take all the credit for it. Let me know if you know of any games that I missed and I'll add them to the list.

Well, I know Ghost recon, any RTS, and both unreals have coop. At least, Ghost recon has coop. The rest are lan, but normally against each other.

I have a pretty big collection of local-coop games. Here are some of the ones my wife and I enjoy playing together though:

Serious Sam 3: BFE
Trine 1 & 2
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Rayman Origins
Nation Red (awesome)
Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise
Renegade Ops
Alien Zombie Megadeath (wife loves it)
Undergarden (wife loves it)
All the LEGO games.
Shank 1 & 2
Jamestown
Dirt 3
Gatling Gears
All Zombies Must Die!
Capsized
Dungeon Defenders
Deathspank
Shatter
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (as mentioned)

The list goes on...but those are some good ones. I use the PCcouchCOOP website all the time when looking to pick up a new one. It's a pretty comprehensive list.

Games with local-coop that I haven't played yet but I'd be interesting in trying:
Rocketbirds
Awesomenauts
Dustforce
The baconing

I assure you, all games can be played "co-op" as in "on the same team" and in an offline mode (local area network)

+1 for All the LEGO games. (co op on same screen tho)

The OP is looking specifically for local coop games. Local coop games are those in which two or more players can play the same game, in the same room, on the same PC (i.e., not over a LAN or over the internet).

Shank is pretty good if you're looking for just a straight beat-em up/shoot em up. Gets a little repetitive, but pretty fun overall. Oops I mentioned Shank 2, but I've actually only played shank 1.
