So Futurama is now over.
But at least they ended it in a way that allows them to bring it back again if they want to.

Amazing that Futurama was cancelled by Comedy Central, yes the earlier seasons were better, but there has still been some good episodes after the reboot. But with the other things on CC and with South Park reducing their yearly episode amount by like 50%, Futurama was kind of their MVP.

Eh, it's still better then Family Guy/American Dad/Cleavland Show.

Eh, people like to sneer at those but they are good for a laugh, I don't think I've ever lol at simpsons or futurama. Sometimes futurama is interesting because they mix more science references into stories and such but yea, after the reboot quality has been uneven. Its just weird when people talk like if you enjoy breaking bad, you are too good to enjoy something like tosh.0
Futurama is a funny show, but its not just one liners and cut aways like other animated shows. There has been a lot of other elements mixed in as well that people tend to forget about.

It was a good show, and deserved to go out on its own terms, not get cancelled twice, especially by a network as bad as comedy central.
I saw the finale; I liked it. Wasn't blown away, and it wasn't even the most emotional episode in the show's history, but it was an OK finale and left room open for a potential renewal by another network, which probably won't happen. I still think after all these years that Futurama should have been revived on Adult Swim, where I think the majority of fan appreciaption stemmed from. Would Adult Swim cancel it if viewership went down? Maybe, but I think they'd give them a few more seasons, out of appreciation if nothing else.

At least we'd get to see reruns of the show for an untold amount of years...you know Comedy Central is just going to put this show in storage after maybe keeping it on lineup for a few months. You can still watch stuff like Home Movies and The Oblongs occasionally on AS. The only show that's been cancelled for years and still kinda shows up on Comedy Central is The Chappelle Show...maybe Reno 911 if I watch the channel at weird hours.

Have to wonder if it wasn't under the threat and worry of cancellation all of the time, and if we didn't have the years of cancellation the first time, how the show would have been then.
I'm more suprised how the Simpsons are still being aired, it's so bad the BBC dropped it long ago
Simpsons is being carried by guest stars I believe. Have not watched it in years, so cannot say how bad or how good its gotten. Probably makes most of its money from advertisements/merchandise etc.
To me, I think the quality of The Simpsons now is still where it was a decade ago. If you haven't watched The Simpsons in a long while, basically whatever your opinion of the show was anytime after...lets say season 12...is probably going to be the same. The comedy hasn't really improved and they still mostly rely on a guest star to get them through episodes. Maybe it's a good thing that Futurama is ending when it is. I'd hate for it to be Simpsonized due to length and a lack of ideas.

Because Tosh, like Mencia before him is a we bit more spiteful and racist then is normally considered the point where it's still funny to everyone in the room? I'm a nothing is sacred kind of guy, hence why I know where that line is, it's the one where pushing further mak get you punched in the face.

That and at least AMC is trying to make good shows unlike most networks?

Family Guy and related have never been funny to anyone who isn't as easily distracted as a squirrel trying to cross a street.
