List of DRM-free games on Steam
Before everyone cries "But Steam is DRM!", listen:

A few people from the gog.com-forum and me are making a list with titles on steam without DRM. By "DRM-free" we mean that the game has no third party DRM (as GfWL, Uplay, SecuROM, ...) and can be launched without the steam launcher (aka CEG). This makes them effectively DRM-free once installed. This means that you can copy the game folder anywhere you want and launch the .exe/.sh directly without being online or having Steam or another third party software running.

I hope you guys are interested or can help making the list better and more complete :)

Most of us already downloaded Steam so why does this help us?

but...i like steam.... it is a very convenient place to have a list of my games...who wants a cluttered desktop with shortcuts to games?
You dont have to install all your games you know. Steam is good but I prefer my DRM-free games. I already have a few games on this platform :D

You don't have to install all of your games for Steam either, if you own a game and uninstall it-it will stay in your library.

Although I have over a hundred games on Steam. I'm for pushing those same games without DRMs. Just because I have to put up with it does not mean everyone else has to as well.

Yeah, Steam is convenient, no matter, but there are a lot of people who don't like any sort of DRM. They avoid Steam like the plague.
If you don't need this list, it's perfectly fine^^ But if you want to take a Game on a USB drive to play it anywhere you want, this might help.

Sadly there are a few games that are only available on Steam. So if someone does not like Steam but this game and he knows that the game is technically DRM-free, maybe he can enjoy this game as well :)

To play the games on the list "without DRM" you have to install steam first, download and install the game and run it through Steam a first time (to complete the installation). This might help in that way, that you don't need the Steam-Client running. My last PC had 1.7 GHz singlecore and I would be glad if I could disable the Steam-Client back then... :( Or you don't like the Client. Consider the Client as a pure shop with download-function and deinstall it after installing the game.

I don't want to persuade anybody, I only offer some information to you.

There is DRM everywhere it's the same for consoles you have to buy a Playstation 3 to play the Last of us.

Yeah, but you must own a PC or a certain OS to play most games as well, this was since Magnavox Odyssey^^ (Okay, there was no seperate hardware/software). I mean despite the fact you need an electronic device to run software on it - and that's not DRM.
But on the other side I don't really get your point (if there is any).

An addition to the list? If so, on which OS do you tried it?

I don't see the connection but I'm indifferent as long as the game is great. One point for gog would be the additional soundtracks but steam has better servers and is ... more central.
