Of course, I personally think Sherlock is a much more entertaining show. Award winning acting for the main guy.
I shouldn't be able to ruin a show you love, but my honest opinion is that the main character is an a**hole, like he should, but just not too "likable". That's the point, I suppose.
But on Sherlock (British version, on Netflix), the guy is still likable. Even the sidekick is likable.
But for some reason, I can't see the partners on Elementary as being "too" interesting. But that's just me.
Seen it and it wasn't like "Breaking Bad" greatness but still acceptable cop drama. However Sherlock, now that is great, I was blown away having watched Elementary and avoiding the British shows...
Was recommended to give it a go and A-Freaking-Mazing...it's unfortunately short but I think they put the length just right like a 3 part movie per season.
Hence the term, miniseries.
Few episodes, but they usually are long.
I personally think the acting is superb.
Same with Watson.
Have you ever watched Sling Blade? Yes, Billy Bob Thorton was obviously a corny actor in that movie. But at the end of the movie, I could fully understand why he got nominated for best actor at the Oscar's.
Same thing with Sherlock. Takes a while to grasp it.
However, inversely, I thought the guy on Elementary just couldn't pull off a believable character, in my book.
Maybe because he isn't really a character that is likable.
House was an a**hole. Patrick Jane can be one. However, they make you like them.
I haven't read the books, so I don't know the accurate portrayal of the real Holmes or Watson.
