Fastest racing games on steam?
I'm not generally too much into racing games, but in light of the steam summer sale, I decided I should have at least one good one in my library. I'm looking for a racing game that that centers on speed more than anything else. I don't care so much for realism, precision, reflexes or stuff like that. I just want to race other cars while going extremely fast.

Any recommendations?

GRIP. Or for less speed and more content, Distance.

Not as old as "vac for no reason"

Distance is fun, but it's a racing platformer and not everyone likes its idea of shortcuts.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about this ancient thread, haha. It's 4 and a half years old, lol. Thanks for the reccomendations though!

Yeah, I was very into Distance a year or two ago. It's still the most played game in my Steam library by a lot. I plan on getting back into it once it's out of Early Access probably.

I also played Nitronic Rush back in the day too.

Still very fast and fun. Plus, for pure racing speed, take GRIP. SkyDrift is also pretty fast and fun.

Of course Need Of Speed Hot Pursuit. And it also has superb music to ride!

Not what I'd call 'extremely fast' per the op's request. Also, it's realistic and the op doesn't want that.

It is, but it doesn't fit the op's demands.

Do futuristic games count? If so, Redout is likely faster paced than any other racing game. There's a free demo available.

That's a very good game, but the op wanted cars. Plus, GRIP is definitely faster.
