Good rpg's/story-driven games for airplane rides and trips

Dear guru's of gaming (no acronym pun intended,)

I've got a series of long flights coming up, and I'm wondering what RPGs or narrative-driven games you'd recommend for laptop play. I'm thinking of a few criteria:
- reasonably good story
- not taxing on graphics, and looks aren't critical but can't require 1600x1200
- reasonably playable with small confined space (so not a full blown 3d game that necessitates a lot of mouse gestures)--or a hack'n'slash where frantic button mashing is needed
- epic length not necessary but ideally longer than 5 hrs
- has good reminders of where you were or at least doesn't require writing a lot of stuff down on paper (gasp remember the Ultima days?)

So far, I've gone through my Steam library and prepped
- Legend of Grimrock
- Dungeons of Dredmor
- NWN 2 (violates some of the rules)
- Gemini Rue
- King's Bounty (I know, not rpg or narrative driven, but at least turn based!)

But have largely played those already. I've played BG2 recently, as well as Torchlight II, so have nixed those two, but any other suggestions?

Strangely, I've tried to search for this topic in Steam, but have come up with nada. I may have missed it, so if there are duplicative threads, mea culpa!

I would recommend The Last Remnant. It has full compatibility with Gamepad.

Hmm maybe it's too long for what u are asking.

Terraria needs mouse, but its very good and nice for a laptop. Also has great mods and to be online or multiplayer are just optional to play with.

Evoland. I've heard its a great game.

DLC Quest. Maybe too short (it took me 3 hours to complete everything 100%, other people finished in half an hour) but you should try.

Thanks everyone! The perils of non-Steam client access meant that I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to access this darn thread! How many forums are there for Steam anyway?!?

So update is:
- I got Cthulu, very, very fun and unexpectedly more serious/content rich than I thought! I had
- Avadon already (and very much liked it except the sometimes awkward movement time)
- DLC Quest is probably too short, but I will likely try Evoland

I've also d/l'ed On the Rainy Precipice, To the Moon, and Yesterday (adventure game)

Any other ideas, please shout out!

If you liked Avadon, then maybe some other Spiderweb games as well, like Avernum, Nethergate and Geneforge-series.

Baldur's gate. can't go wrong with the classics! also, good call on rainy precipice.

you can mod the original Baldur's gate into BG2 I believe. Maybe Torchlight or The Witcher?

Half Minute Hero would work. It isn't too big on the story but it is fun and fast and takes a while to fully complete.

Thanks guys! I ended up getting a few more games--had Torchlight II and BG2, but downloaded HMHero on my PSP (I know, srsly, I still have one.) And am eyeing Wizardry 8. Or perhaps one of the Ultima spinoffs, one of which was free from GOG at one point.

Does anyone have a view on the Heres of M&M series? Are they any good?
