If the rating is 60%, the movie is probably good, but you might not like all aspects of the movie.
If the rating is 40% - 60%, there is a half chance you'll like the movie.
If the rating is below 40%, the movie is generally bad. You will more likely than not, not like it.
7.0 - 7.9 = the movie is good
6.0 - 6.9 = half chance that it is good
5.0 - 5.9 = you will probably not like most aspects of the movie
4.9- = the movie sucks
You will realize that often, the numbers are inconsistent. If just one number is high, it probably means it's good. But it is a gamble. Many movies I like are 50% on RT, but get 7.0 on IMDB.
If you think a movie was bad, and can't figure out the good ratings, realize that all "perfect" movies have people who don't think it was even a little good. Everybody has been in that spot.
Based off of the ratings, you will probably like World War Z.
I've yet to see both of those ratings failing consistently.
At least compared to my opinions of the movie.
They probably weren't bought out, because a ton of people actually check IMDB and rotten tomato.
Rotten Tomato is actually more accurate, because it uses a simpler, and more straight forward method of "Did you like it, or Did you not like it".
AND DO NOT READ THE REVIEWS!
Reading bad reviews make you not wanna watch the movie, and may change your opinion on movies you loved.
The "rating" number is all I go by. I read the reviews only when I've made up my opinion about the movie and expect to find "plot holes" or "bad things".
Well, that's one person. And asking people on Steam won't get enough people to accurately give you a "decision".
The RT rating was like 68. The number means it wasn't a perfect movie. But it has an entertainment value.
I understand the movie business, I just don't like it.
I NEVER listen to Rotten Tomato, they always give horror movies a bad rating.
I agree too, they gave Man of Steel a 56%. That movie deserves atleast a 70%.
