Is the Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device considered a shmup?
I'm planning on creating a video database of every shmup I can find for a youtube channel I'm starting soon. I'm organizing the shmups from oldest to newest. From the wikipedia description, it sounds like a shmup, but from a video I found of it on youtube, it does not look like one. However, I couldn't really understand what was going on, so it might be one after all. What's your opinion?

Description found on Tumblr[thestoryisalwaysimportant.tumblr.com]:
Now this device was simply made up of knobs and buttons, in which a person would use to manipulate the cathode ray beam. The game simulated firing at “air-borne” targets. To complete the ‘game’ a plastic see-through screen was placed in front of the device, so that the person controlling the device could see the ‘playing field’.
Just consider it a special case and mention it anyway as a proto-shmup.

That seems like a good idea. Thank you.
