Feeling useless after gaming all day
It's saturday and I've nothing important to do. I've already been playing for five hours today and this feeling uselessness creeps up my spine. It's like nothing has a purpose. There should be more than playing games in my free time.

Playing games is how i often reward myself after I learned for a test or something like that. But with it not being a reward. I feel like a piece of trash playing the game because it feels like a waste of time. Time that could be used to do things that will help me in the future.

This makes me quite sad.

Can anyone relate to this?

Don't let it get you down, just find a game that stimulates your mind and learning potential. That will help rid the guilt! :)
I've felt quite tired with gaming once or twice in the past, it generally helps to just play something which feels WORTH the time, Mass Effect 2 and The Walking Dead did this for me when I felt like this. Perhaps taking a break is also an option, you could try doing something you haven't tried before such as drawing or Origami.
Draw or paint something. Listen to music, hang out with your buddies.

I know exactly what you mean, I get that feeling too. After I've done a lot of gaming, I feel depressed. I feel like I should be using my life to improve the world. But instead, I'm wasting my life playing games. I guess the obvious answer is to have self discipline and not play so much.

I'm always called a useless person but despite all I try to be as reliable as possible

oh yeah, i get that feeling sometimes, when i start feeling like that i just do something else, or play something else to take my mind off of it.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one. But i'm not talking about getting rid of the feeling. I'm talking about if people should care about their uselessness.

You guys are really helping. Steam's got a great community.

I'm glad that I don't think this way either.
When i play a game, it just feels as time passes, and I've done nothing successful or anything important.
It's like I'm a waste of space.
Yet I just cant help it when I want to play something.
And even though I have all this other equipment in my room that I could do to feel more useful
such as a drawing tablet, a guitar, weights, I don't bother with them, and I just... sit in my chair
and do nothing.

It's quite sad, really :/

i know what you mean, i kinda do the same, i have weights and a piano but i haven't used them for weeks. I try and get some work done, that for some reason helps a bit, but i mainly just sit there.

I try my best to ignore these feelings, you gotta try and be optimistic, and convince your brain otherwise, i try and fight the feeling, and doing things to take your mind off of it sure does help, at least in my opinion.

You guys are really depressing. Do what you like. If you feel bad about it then do something else. Plenty of people are doing things way worse. If you feel like you should be helping the world go do something about it.

You just don't understand, do you?

The fact that ignorance is a blessing. Is once again proven.

Don't be so quick to judge, just because someone disagrees. The guy has a point, albeit very poorly spoken. If you in fact feel like you're wasting your time, you should be asking yourself: why then, are you doing it?
Sure, you enjoy gaming but maybe you should consider trying other hobbies too. Drawing or writing are two very cheap options.
Or are you just thinking this way because society claims that it is? Playing games is not a waste of time, as long as the game you're playing let's you think and interact instead of running to a dot for hours upon hours. Because the latter will do nothing but empty and neutralise your brain.
But a game that forces you to think and interact will tease the consciousness. And that is more than what can be spoken of for the drunken society of today ^^
You're thinking too much get into a game so active it messes with your head.
