Tactical FPS

i need a tactical shooter, much like Rainbow Six Vegas 2. i dont know if the community is still alive on PC for that game so i havent purchased it yet. If you guys could list some games that are current and have that realistic tactical feel, that would be great. Thanks!
p.s. is that Insurgents game any good?

As a Rainbow Six fan from the original Red Storm Entertainment created game, I would say that Vegas 2 is nowhere what Rainbow Six defined as a genre and won a GOTY award for. I haven't bought an R6 game since Ubi created Black Thorn using the RSE engine. Everything after that was a linear rail shooter that was nowhere near what RSE defined as a tactical shooter or Tac-Sim.

I haven't heard of anything coming out in the vein of Vegas 2 though Ubi is milking the R6 series for all it's worth and will most likely have something coming out as a sequel.

As far as a tactical shooter, I am waiting for Ground Branch, which is being made by a former RSE employee. It is advancing what Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon were and should have done.

now ive played most Rainbow Six games aswell, and to be honest, i liked the new feel of the Vegas games. they were more simple, yes, but they were still fun. I like them more for the more competative multiplayer. anything now is a simple point and click. Ive played counsols up until recently so Vegas felt really comfortable. Slow combat, very competative, and required team work. I havent had as much fun online with a game since the first Vegas came out. And ive heard of Ground Branch, itd be nice for them to bring back a kick starter campaign again. Theres also another game being made by 343 studios (Halo 4) called Takedown: Red Sabre. it sounds promising but it probably wont see the light of day until lat 2014. Im just so sick of BF3 and all of those games. I need something fun. Red Orchestra tries to be tactical, but theres to much simplicity to it

try out Ghost Recon Online, Its not on steam, but is definitely tactical in the same way as R6V2 was. and its free.

i was never a fan of Ghost Recon. its combat was annoying. ive done alot of research and theres really nothing modern thats equivalent to Rainbows. guess ill just have to wait

Just a note about Serellan, he was part of the force behind GR2/Summit Strike and GRAW/2 MP for X360. He then went to Bungie to work on HALO: Reach before creating his own company to create Takedown. From what I have heard, and seen, it isn't much better than Raven Shield in many ways.
