PS Vita or 3DS?

I am debating whether to get a PS Vita or the 3DS in the near future.

I have searched the internet but still unable to come to a conclusion.

In terms of games, I have played plenty of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on the PSP.

I don't know much about consoles.

Anyway, putting games aside, which of the following systems have a better value for money? The features, wifi connection support, memory space support, hardware performance, etc. On which system will I eventually get the most out of it?

Vita sucks. Yeah, it's superior with it's hardware but what good is it without the software to run it? It's an expensive paper weight. 3DS at least has original games and not (as much) rehashes and lazy ports.

It's like 500 dollars just to buy all the equipment for it.

Also, Vita sucks because you have to buy a memory stick to save your games. WTF Sony?!?! I can't use any brand of memory stick like the PSP so I have you use official Vita? It's expensive for such little memory. I could understand the PSP needing a memory stick because the games were disc based. The Vita has no excuse to really use an external memory source because like the 3DS, they are in memory stick form. 3DS doesn't use an external memory source but they give you the option, with Vita you have no use it! This is another reason why Vita is failing and failing hard.

Wii U has some good titles. SMBU is pretty fun, and Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed is fun too. Nintendo is picking up their guns and is ready to fight in the console wars.

I know i am here like 10 years later but the Vita is way better in every aspect than the 3ds except for the fact that it cannot play games of the 3ds. It can emulate so many things that its just insane. It can even play some ps2 games and also some n64 games too. So, if you wanna buy the 3ds then only reason you should buy it for is if you want to play 3ds and ds games other than that the vita is the easiest choice. So, much has changed in 10 years and also the vita is cheaper right now in most market places that i have looked at.

Both handhelds are quite good.
Personally I hate the interface of the PS Vita but the console was good.
I liked a lot more the interface of the PSP and I do not care too much about its games (I would be mostly playing the Mega Drive collection anyway on a PSP / PS Vita anyway so...) and I would choose a PSP instead of a PS Vita because of that.

The worst thing about the 3DS for me is that Sega never released Goden Axe on it but I fixed that problem in ways that I cannot explain here :P and I did that with the Pyron recolòered version which is a big plus

The PS Vita is more powerful than the 3DS but the 3DS has more games and a much better interface in my opinion (PS Vita was just awful in that regard)

I sold the PS Vita and I don't regret it even if I can't say it was a bad device. Only the interface was really bad.

I miss the PSP more than the PS Vita... not so much that I would say I regret having sold it but if I still had it it would be nice I probably would not sell it now.

In this case which company have a better business practice? Nintendo or Sony?

3DS XL's hinge cracks way too easily.

Get the New 3DS XL, I believe that one is better in quality.

Why not both? I have both a New Nintendo 2DS XL and a PlayStation Vita, although I've mostly purchased digital copies of PlayStation Portable games on my Vita.
