Fighting Games?

I really want to try some fighter games. I'm thinking something along the lines of Street Fighter style. Are there any good ones in the steam store? I need suggestions.

Thanks Gurimoe! To be honest I've passed on this SFxT deal because I'm not really 100% sure... at least Skullgirls, which I've seen some videos of, seems way more simpler even if its gameplay isn't really my piece of cake.

Well, I'm happy I was able to help with the decision, then. I can't really nag about you not getting a Steam fighting game either, as I have not played it pre-patch really, and am not sure for how long I'll do so even now that it's patched, as naturally every second person I know who plays fighting games (read: actually pretty much everyone) doesn't seem to want to give the game that much of a second chance. Well, it's not the 2013-version yet either, so eh.
Now, until then thou shalt improve on those 27.4hrs of SSFIVAE, I say!

In the Steam database we have quite a few fighting games which seem to have a chance to come to Steam (due to being in the Steam database, pretty much). To the extend of my knowledge, those are

• The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match
  
• The King of Fighters 2002 Ultimate Match
  
• The King of Fighters XIII
  
• Mortal Kombat 9
  
• Soul Calibur IV
  
• Injustice: Gods Among Us

Those MIGHT come out on Steam in July/August, though I've only read of them being in the database on various sites and heard from a japanese mate that those are set to "no preload, release in july(or was it august?)" or something like that. I can't remember that part exactly, and I got the last part by no means from an "official" source, so get hype if you want to, but don't jump on that hype train just yet I'd say.
Oh, but you could already ride the train for the upcoming Skullgirls, hopefully starting its closed Steam Beta around july as well, as that one's about to hit the PC (and Steam).

Ok, I'm not sure you chould call it a fighting game, but, Arche Blade is worth a look.

Tekken is worth a look into also, but it is pretty much a playstation game. Good enough fighting game though that there is a tekken 6.
Soul Calibur is another goody.

From this laked list right now only MK9 has been 100% confirmed because also all of it achivements have been uploaded and it is getting updates on steam databases evry day. Injustice god amog us is not on steam database, but it will come if MK9 sells a lot. King of fighters XIII also has not been announced but if it is on steam database then it is coming to pc.

SF4 arcade edition is absolutely PHENOMENAL on the PC i HIGHLY recommend it!! ive played it for years on xbox and just picked it up on Steam 2 days ago, 6/1713 and there is a HUGE population at all hours of the day and night playing this game and looking for a fight!! there is almost no lag either. i seriously couldnt be happier with how well they did this game for PC. amazing job.
