Any games like Warcraft II?

Hi, i know im pretty much looking for the impossible, but here it goes:
Im searching for games like the RTS warcraft 2.
Here are some things that are most important to me:
-RTS
-mainly 1V1 gameplay
-NOT turned based
-big characters that you control, like warcraft 2, and not just spamming units (starcraft2)
-it doesnt have to be a steam game
-doesnt require a super PC (i have a somewhat bad computer)

And thats it. So, any ideas? Here are the games that i have tried and DIDNT like:
-AOEIIHD - huge let down, expecially with all the hype. i guess i just dont like tiny units, haha
-starcraft2 I actually kinda like this game, but not something i would spend much time on
-warcraft3 i thought i would love this one because warcraft 2 is amazing, but i hate it.
-supreme commander i liked it somewhat but hate the resource system

Thanks, again i really want a 1v1 type RTS without turns, and big units. Impossible i know, but any suggestions are welcome :)

You could give Dota a try, that's essentially what you are asking for except it's not really a 1v1 game, but you can play it that way I think.

Or alternatively League of Legends or Heroes of newerth, which is basically the same. And all of them are free to play as well.

i just mean like.. in AOE2HD your units are so tiny i cant tell which one is which, you know? just like, units that are large on your screen

I recommend Company of Heroes. if you have Supreme Commander working alright same shouldbe with it. Honestly, base and defense building present, and role of resources and unit training is great as in proper RTS, but here there's not tedious resource collecting with workers, and you won't feel like idiot using every single unit type aviable instead of spamming several types Starcraft style.

Also Warhammer 40k Dawn of War.
