Battle for Middle Earth 2
I'd like to see Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2 and it's expansion added to the steam marketplace. I mean sure it's an old game but with the recent Hobbit movie alot of people are looking to buy it for a reasonable price. It'd warm my heart to see it up on steam.

I would love to see this game come back to life! I still have the disks and working keys, but I would really love to see these titles available on Steam.

Up to the publishers of the game to go to Valve about it.

Not even up to them anymore. The LotR licence expired so they can't print any more physical copies, or re-released a digital version.

New Line seem to be adement in keeping the LotR licences with Warner Bro. for the moment so a new contract seems unlikely.

As the Tolkien estate have begun a legal case to sue WB who made LOTR games without a licence to do so....anything is possible.

Just looking at ebay, copies run from 50 to $299. I'm no marketer, but I think this is a big hint hint for steam to at least attempt to contact the game publishers.

While I see the attraction of a fairly decent licenced game, they never fixed the terrible netcode (typical EA) so desynced games were very common online and on LAN for pretty much all the C&C series, speaking as someone with all the C&C games and both LOTR titles and the addon.

I own this game and its expantion and still play it today it is by far my favorite rts. I would rebuy this game if steam had it for a good price without having to go through game ranger or something of that sorts to play onliine. I wanted to have a bunch of friends buy the game to play it at a LAN party however because of the age of the game it is way overpriced looking on e bay and amazon.
I love it, lets get it on steam.

wont happen as the publishers lost the game licence rights

This game is an absolute classic with still-modern graphics for an rts game. Not to mention the style of this game is beautiful, BEAUTIFUL, that's "BEAUTY" in an "RTS" game! And considering hard copies are 3 digit prices, this would be an absolute money maker on steam. I can't tell you how many of my friends talk about and LOVE this game. Now come on Valve, you guys are F@&king STEAM, the digital video game store of video game stores. Yeah there's alot of legal work to do, but you guys can do it. Origin can't, (funny cause the game's an EA brand) they're weak, show us us who's the man here, bring this RTS back from the dead, one of the only true representations of Tolkien's magic brought into a video game.

(Huge nerd for this game, been my favorite for years)

That is not going to happen. The game is out of print and very very expensive. It belongs to EA and knowing EA it will be on Origin. Hell, even EA doesn't have it on Origin.

I have the both on boxed editions... :)

EA merely own the original game code, they do not own the licence and have not for years since it lapsed. Hence why no re-print or updated edition etc
