I think the voxel games showing up on Steam are better. But to be fair I dont play minecraft because I dont find it visually tolerable.

I think its unclear to call games like 7DTD, space engineers, From The Depths and StarMade 'like' minecraft simply because its voxel based.

but hey if you want to rock that minecraft and not build navy ships, space ships, space stations, and hard core survial that will make you cry then have at it bro..

Literally the only thing fun to do in minecraft is blowing up my friends or their houses... or both. I would say about 99% of the games on steam (including the bad ones) offer a better experience than minecraft ever could.
