I assume you're referring to motion sickness caused by fov issues. I suffer from this with some games myself, I have a few I can't even play because they make me ill within a few minutes. Amnesia did give me mild cases of it, but I found if I turned off the 'insanity effects' for a while (the screen blurring and such) then it would calm down. Also your friend might not be aware that some games do allow you to change the FOV to make it wider so that motion sickness is less likely.
I haven't tried dramamine or ginger capsules out for it yet, but some people get good results from those too.
It definitely is creepy and it's a must play for horror fans, especially if you're also a fan of the SCP site. The game is far more effective if you know the backstory a bit. :)
It scares me that anyone buys that abomination.

only downside is, they are nds exclusive...
I always wanted to play these...heard they were pretty creepy.
