Best RTS Games? Please I need help.

If its gameplay you seek then i will have to give a few options. i recommend starcraft 2, warcraft 3, the lord of the rings the battle for middle earth 2, and age of empires 3, or any of the total war series. its more based off of preferance than anything

For it's really just Total Annihilation and Starcraft games that are among the top RTS. Pity there is no true sequel to Total Annihilation. One that actually keeps the same gameplay.

Battle for Middle Earth is crazy expensive if you find a copy online. I'm surprise EA doesn't have this game on Origin. They would make so much money considering it has a bit of a following.

they dont own the VG Rights to LOTR any more :( I wish there was a sequel by the guys who did all the total war games

The C&C games are good up to the latest one which is trash. Depends on what kind of rts your after. Starcraft 2 is nothing like the first game, its a fast paced click'a'thon in comparison. Whilst games like Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion are grand scale rts games which play at a much slower pace but is more calculated. As with the total war series which has changed quite alot. I played some Shogun Total War 2 its pretty good, hard for me to have an opinion when i suck at it though. The cavalry seem to be much more useless this time around. The assasins are a pain as well with a chance to kill one of your generals or warlord...

Age of empires men of war and the total war games :-) world in conflict is also a very good RTS game but on steam there are some problems with it...:-/ :)

I'd say Command and Conquer Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun. The later C&C games are fun (except the last one which is really bad), but somehow they can't be taken seriously. It's rather unheard of, but you might want to try Metal Fatigue, especially if you like battles with large mechs. The 3-layer maps give a quite unique experience. As for the Age of... games, I personally prefer them in multiplayer. Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War 1 and 2 are also pretty much multi-player oriented and differ from the mentioned games quite a bit, but worth looking into. Any of the mentioned games is "best" in a certain way. (^_^)
