They DO put a working computer in your hands with alleged "support" if something goes wrong, but when things hit the fan thats usually insufficient or impossible to get it fixed(and to the landfill it goes).
Build your own. Know the major parts and how to know which components are better or worse.
You should generally know that an i9 is better than an i3 processor, but oh boy, be sure you check the price difference. 8GB of ram is minimum to even run Windows these days. Get 16GB or 32GB(fill the machine to the max, you'll have less problems)
Then know what video card you have/want(or if its just a chipset on the motherboard). Will it be enough to run the games you want?
Check the steam store page to look at the Recommended hardware requirements. Then shop to meet or exceed those.
