problem being that I live in the middle of nowhere.

They build decent machines and you can customize or have one built there to your specs.\
I don't need a lot of LCDs or that crap but I am sure they have fancier cases than I have got.
I used to build my own but my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be and reading tiny print on circuit boards is painful if even possible anymore. So last couple have be prebuilt "cheapies", one had onboard video with a larger power supply to handle an upgrade.
There are not a lot of Micro Centers though.
But in any case, even if you buy prebuilt, you'll have to familiarize yourself and learn to take it apart and swap out parts sooner or later.
Agreed, and that route is awesome since you can always connect it to peripherals (headphones, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc)
Yep
Microcenter, Amazon, iBuyPower, Newegg, and most recently Walmart. Those stores offer custom made computers for gaming.
However, that's the recommended option for a lot of people because building your own PC from parts yourself actually requires some specific knowledge. Many people think they can do it but do it incorrectly and they're left with an unstable setup.
Remember that pre-builts come in many forms and qualities. If you buy from some mainstream OEM, you may pay more for recognized brand and the default installation may be filled with unneeded OEM bloat. Smaller OEMs may be the total contrary to that.
