BioWare shutting down next month after Veilguard flop
https://www.thegamer.com/corrine-busch-has-seemingly-left-bioware/

Well, the first shoe has dropped. The "queerosexual gendermancer" creative director for the game left the company this week, and now the entire studio in Edmonton looks to be closing next month right before EA's next earnings call. Early reports are that Veilguard only sold roughly 10-15% of what it was projected to by the publisher. That likely also means the planned Mass Effect game is cooked as well.

R.I.P. to what used to be one of the best gaming studios. But when you turn over the reins of an entire studio over to a couple of activists looking to push their personal agendas above all else, you can't be shocked when this sort of thing happens.

Based. I’m glad these woke game studios are shutting down. Keep that crap out of the games.

Bioware, I miss the days before you became a trash factory, pumping out one garbage title after another.

Oh well!

Im sure it will go even better next time!!
People like that would probably do better in smaller studios, who aren't trying to "mass appeal".
Though, that could depend on if she's someone who is actually interested in game development, and not spreading a message or going for the big bucks.

You know, as someone who is "woke" I kinda agree with you. I believe there should be diversity and stuff in games, but not too much. If there's too much it doesn't make the game fun.

It's all about where development is focused.
Look at the Unreal Tournament games. all kinds of diversity in there but that wasnt' the focus. The focus was on being the most badass game in the galaxy, and they succeeded.

The amount isn't the problem, the problem is when its handled poorly.

I have no context for Veliguard or anything, but that table scene everyone kept making fun of was genuinely horrible and embarrassing. I've seen rewrites that have the same message behind it but handled a lot better.
