for me, games that do not require much reflexes and such are the best for this.

- bloons td6
- slay the spire
- darkest dungeon
- ftl: faster than light
- caves of qud
- dwarf fortress
- inscryption

Ffxiv is fun to do mundane tings while listening to such stuff

this is exactly why the developers insistence on forcing people to go through all of the story is such a terrible design decision
maybe turn-based strategy games?
i used to listen to audiobooks sometimes when playing dayz. it helped kill the boredom of running around the map.

yes. i am hearing that it can be somewhat difficult (probably server population dependent) to find groups for instances and such in older expansion content because everyone is always moving on to the newest content. so if you fall behind, it becomes even more difficult

that's a less prominent issue tbf thanks to daily roulettes, moreso it's that you need spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours walking from cutscene to cutscene to play endgame with your friends, which is arguably the highlight of modern MMOs (I would say that used to be the leveling experience, but no modern MMO has a good one anymore)

right. WoW does the same. the entry to the story is found in Warcraft 3, which the devs murdered and buried

that's a good idea. not something like X-Com which has tons of audio cue's, but more Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete (from GoG) + the HD mod which you could play without sound and all you'd miss is the music and sfx

these are brilliant. like none of them require sound.

EDIT:
vanilla minecraft may (creepers), but if it's possible to only allow hearing the sounds you must hear like a creeper hiss, then that'd be a perfect one, but if i play minecraft with say a mod like skyblock or skyfactory, there's no need to worry about having to hear anything

Fall Guys can be played for free on Epic Games (PC, Switch, PS4/5 etc.) it has cross progression and is very fun in exploration mode.
