anyway, it was a blessing because i finally upgraded my pc because of it. (this was back in 2011 or so)
Eventually I got lucky and crushed that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for us, and suddenly it was like that magic moment when he took the training wheels off the bike and let me ride free. He was always there watching and cheering me on after that, whether it was Mario, Earthbound, Zelda, etc.
Fond memories.. miss you dad.
there are still pay phones in some places in my country lol, usually outside of tbilisi (capital). but yes, i grew up with them too. i remember once dialing 112 (911 in usa) as a joke as a kid and being shocked that the police actually picked up the line. 112 is free of charge, i learned then, on pay phones
are you having, midnight releases and such in your country? i remember waiting in a line at night with friends, as a kid, for the release of halo 2
we eventually did get a computer with windows 95 and i played crayola art studio and i think i had sonic cd then, too.

Nintendo were experimental during that era, yet nearly all of these concepts paid off in the long-term and created franchises we still have today.
