Does gangster rap have a bad influence on youth?
Movies and video games that deal with violence can be seen as something fictional. Music, especially rap, however, in my opinion, often carries a more instructive message behind its lyrics. Here is an example where the gangster lifestyle is promoted:

I don't believe that gangster rap should be banned, but the youth should still learn that this lifestyle is not desirable. What is your opinion on this topic?

Any music can be a bad influence on kids. It's not even rap music. Back in the day they was saying ozzy was telling kids to kill them self was even sued over his song suicide solution. So it's not just rap but all music can be a bad influence.
Yes, it is promoted so heavily to keep crime rates high so they can keep for-profit prisons full.

But to be honest, I believe no other music lifestyle is as dangerous as rap. In no other genre are so many young men killed.
Back when I was a kid I was jamming to music with questionable lyrics. Like this song for example.

That's your opinion. But not the case at all. I listened to rap since the 80s and never committed a crime and I'm black. This is the same ad hominem people say about video games.

This is false.
IDK, did the Beach Boys actually encourage reckless driving?
Isn't "gangster rap" a 90s thing?

I think the kids call rap differently today.

Yeah, the song in the OP is from 25 years ago.

There is definitely still gang-aligned rap though.

Yes, you're right. I think nowadays there is more autotune involved, and the fashion style has shifted from baggy to slim, but the message is still the same
i am not american so this is not really being something i have a profound knowledge on, but from things i have researched it is seeming that it had both positive and negative effects on the young people who consumed such medias, particularly the african american population. in the positives, many songs would be speaking of struggles, of pushing for goals and helping communities. in the negatives, such musics would usually be containing glorification of violence or misogyny.

it is being one of those "double edged sword" situations. the art itself was perhaps more pure, but how people chose to interpret the art and apply the messages therein to their daily lives was perhaps being a negative (or positive) effect.

Well, policy is downstream from culture. Furthermore, children are an investment. Whether said investment leads to a brighter tomorrow or not is up to how that investment is handled. Those who seek to undermine policy seek to shape culture. Furthermore, they will always target the youth as by tampering with said investment in tomorrow they shape what days they'll bring.
Of course it does, MOST kids are lower than higher IQ, they're simple, they take it to heart, they take it seriously. If you'd seen 1990's youth and all of the trouble they caused, because they were SO GANGSTA in their minds.

NEVER underestimate and ALWAYS anticipate the DUMBASSERY of teens and yuppies. :steamfacepalm:

On one hand, gangster rap isn't popular anymore. Rap is run by white picket fence, gated community candy asses now days. So, I'm gonna say maybe?
There just rapping whats on their mind to get it all off there chest.
