2) nowadays the wars includes "pushing buttons". A chimp can push buttons. When you're a radio operator i kinda thing women can very much do the job of a man.
3) Russian "night witches" say hello to you.

there are plenty of jobs women can do in the military, that's a non issue, most countries accept female volunteers into the military
countries like usa have this strange belief that women should not be serving in combat roles alongside men, but other countries, especially those in east europe/eurasia, figured this out a long time ago. you are not having the "luxury" of only allowing any one kind of persons into the military.
when you are a smaller nation or one that recognises that all peoples can love their country, when you fight for causes beyond the scale of your borders, you do not discriminate. all peoples can serve in the military, if you would not be trusting your any fellow soldiers in your unit because they are women, then YOU are the weak link in the squads cooperation and trust, not them.
While I appreciate your addition to this topic, I 100% disagree with this quoted segment here. That is an unrealistic mindset. If there are clear weaknesses, one should not trust that weakness.
having kids is the most important task for woman to keep the nation alive.
economics can always improve later.. no amount of depression or labour shortage is reason to pull woman of the important task of producing offspring
and a nation can afford to loose halve its population, as long as all ot looses is all but 1 man, as even one man can inpregnate all the woman.. one generation later nothing will have happend numbers will be as they would be had nobody died.
but every womb lost.. is a deadblow to your nation lowering your population thus your nations size and power and prosperity forever.
thus only as an exteme last resort.. when otherwise the entire nation would be genocided.. should woman be asked to work and even than you want to keep them as far away from danger as you can.
(so producing ammo/nutses not frontline troops)
so woman in the army should be a last resort amongst te last resort.. only of everybody else already has fallen.
this is a good point as well. many countries in east europe, eurasia, middle east, we are all sharing borders but not all of us are getting along. another reason that yes, we do not have "luxury" of discriminating who can and cannot be joining our military. usa has not fought a war on its soil for 150+ years, and last one was a civil war. my country had a war on its soil about 17 years ago...when i was growing up. and unfortunately, it is seeming there will be another in my lifetime.
and in this war if it comes, women and men will serve alongside one another again. all soldiers are bound by the blood of comrades, and it is having nothing to do with their gender.
This is where the ugly rich dudes who kept themselves out of harms way become popular.
Of course this weakens the society over time by breeding with the lame.
My personal feeling? I think they should do whatever they want, if they can handle it and want to who am I to stop them?
That said I don't think they should get special treatment. Eat with the guys, shower with the guys etc.
When I was in the Navy we had some women on the ship for training. They had special sleeping quarters guarded by marines. Basically treated like little princesses. That was kind of annoying.
the sexual assault rate in many militaries is extremely high, even when companies are only comprised of men. i do not think it is about being treated like "little princesses".
