I mean, I agree with part of what she said. Free speech does need boundaries and every country, including the United States, recognises that. An example of that would be death threats. The problem with hate speech laws though, is that the notion that censorship will decrease intolerance was a faulty premise to begin with. I'd fall into the camp that thinks the evidence supports them being more detrimental then beneficial.

With that out of the way though, it's none of the United States business. If Germans (video is Germany, but insert any country) have an issue with laws in their country, then it's on German citizens to create the change they want to see. If they don't have issue's with it, then that's their prerogative.

Death threats have been criminalised in the recent years AFAIK. They shouldn't be considered a crime, it's just a speech. In most of the cases death threats aren't even meant seriously. A speech cannot be a crime POINT. Even judges themselves often make death threats towards defendants! In case of a death threat the person should be put on a watchlist, so the person knows if it tries to implement the threat, it will be found and punished.
It's insane to punish someone for a threat. Preventive punishment is tyranny. You can take measures to prevent the crime without punishing innocent.

Didn't you undestand what's going on? People HAVE issues with the censorship, but they get persecuted for speaking up.

If we do nothing we end up like China - doing it "for the people" and "democracy" with freedom killed off

If the military steps in we can end up like Russia - doing it "for the people" and "safety" with freedom killed off

Will the people manage to find the way to keep freedom?

Freedom = Money

Corporations are the tool for freedom but they need muzzles and leashes. 40 years of Corporations are People, and trickle down economics have brought us to this day.

The "trust us" is wearing pretty thin at this point.

Liquefied gas (at an eye-watering gouging prices) since Russia is under embargo and ... services throught the internet. Your other products are not fit for consumption because we do have standards and regulations and refuse to eat sh!t. I think it is time to hold the US accountable for all the sh!t they made to the whole world. I'm aware that this gonna push the US towards trade with China, as it hasd done with Russia ... but that will only make me smile more.

And you can ask yourself: Do you want to live in a society influenced by the US, by China or by Russia?
