i've heard that the website learncpp.com is an excellent online-recourse for learning the fundamentals of c++.

i bought a textbook, and studied it. and asm64.

my learning started as a part of engineering school, and i carried on from there.

the first steps is designing mods for a few games, and then you build from there.

I heard that C++ is a good programming language, but it was too hard for me. Learning HTML which is a much easier programming language! My goal is to develop a game like GTA that is family-friendly or World of Warcraft.

I learned while modding games one task at a time..
asking on forums how to do this or that.

it helped i was already coding in basic on c64 as a kid (had a manual and an elder brother to teach me that) and java.. (was offered a 1 year phd lvl course on that for free.. my brother became a programmer and ther compagny allowed their employees to bring in outsiders to their training programs.. in in 00s.. basicly a way to get new recruits.. at very little expensence (if you buy as a compagny a curus for 3000 employees having a 1000 outsiders also follow it does not make those selling you the cursus much more)

I have had a few sidehussle of coding macros in college too

and if you already know 1 coding language learning another is not that hard.

when i want to selfteach myself something i often buy old college books you know pre "lets do all online"

if you can basicly get an introducionary "coding for dummies" + a complete C++ manual + a full set of uear 1 to 4 C++ college books bachalor/master grade
(dont forget to also pick the "homework" books usually theres 2 per year 1 with info 1 with practice tasks.

you could also just muddle with data from youtube and forums but I find thats time consuming and lacks focus..

the grear courses plus are also advertised everwhere.. have not used them myself.. but i have used similair online education conceps some with teachers you can contact and check your homework.. basicly its following an proper education but in your own pace..
downside is those do cost quite a bit.

my c++ coding is not at write new software lvl like I can with basic and java.
but its enough to look in a games code and manipulate it what i want it to do.. for a mod.
basicly if the game is not fully unlocked you cannot add new functions.. but you can manipulate exvisting ones to do thimgs they were not intended for.
usually takes a hundried bright idea.. try it out frag that not works before you find a thing that does..
