But you can't blame them either. Businesses are a business to make money.
- Your Google Account is overall flagged for review abuse and therefore it goes across the lot checking for malicious reviews or what might be considered as review bombing.
- The business itself can ask Google to review and remove your review.
This then considers the following...
- Fake engagement (if you actually didn't purchase their product or service, it can be removed)
- Impersonation accounts
- Misinformation
- Misrepresentation
- Harassment
- Hate Speech
- Offensive content
- Personal information leaked
- Obscenity and Profanity
- Sexual content
- Adult-themed
- Violence, gore or threats
- Deemed dangerous
- Illegal content
- Not safe for children
- Terrorism
- Off-topic and unrelated
- Advertising and solicitation
- Repetitive or deemed as spam content
- Defacement or mischief
Each of those they branches into a lot more. It's quite detailed and well covered.
For example: If you have multiple google accounts spamming only negative, it will be able to detect that review bombing pattern and remove them all accordingly.
Another example: If you reviewed a local business in which google maps has previously detected you physically visited a few days ago and purchased a product or service from, then that review is more trusted and allowed, even if negative. While you have other positive reviews also for different locations around your area...
But I have seen this happening on sites of government institutions as well !
Most likely the government.
Seems to be more of an issue in Germany then I guess.
goggle is a part of it its aa cartel of major information services that surpress unapproved things
And I mostly mean the negative reviews on them... Is one of the best examples of "the customer is not always right"
Just like in videogames, not everybody takes reviews seriously 🤷♀️
And how does this justify them deleting reviews ?
As long as a review does not spread false information to harm a business, it should be up there, otherwise all the reviews are nonsense in the first place and ratings for places are 100% NOT credible.
It seems like it lol
