Yeah dude, I love when companies take dead series and instead of doing something about it they decide to finish it off with a live action movie not a single person in this universe asked for.
The playstation brand hasnt been king of the exclusives since the ps1 (arguably the ps2 as well, but everything had started becoming multiplat that gen).
Uncharted was always mediocre. (Subpar gameplay with great animations and art)
Last of us too.
God of war was mid, they changed up the entire gameplay style to make it relevant.
Gran turismo hasnt been revolutionary since GT1.
Horizon is a ubisoft game.
The playstation brand is slightly less scummy than xbox, and arguably even nintendo these days. I would still buy a PS over an xbox, but it has nothing to do with exclusives.
For example Tekken would be much better on Console than pc.
I dunno they put android on their music players now. I hope they go back to loading their own software but hell. I'll just have to be careful with mine.
no way
2:15, see for yourself
?
Why is that?
money.
I remember people being upset about that years ago for some reason.
If any other powerful companies get out of line Sony has spent so long giving most of its income to Yakuza that nobody notices if they spend a little extra sending them after those companies.
They got desperate, that's what happened.
The "console wars" pressured them heavily, but Sony is/was much more than a console gaming company. And, that was/is the problem. As it stands, Sony has tried to heavily leverage its entertainment offerings by repeatedly dumping large sums of cash in expectation that a miracle will occur...
They tried, and failed, to create a captive marketplace with their console. That's where that has broken them in that market. They pushed for exclusivity, but didn't realize that was an old strategy that doesn't play well anymore when gamers have access to a huge assortment of games at their finger-tips. What gains the largest audience, a huge assortment of games that attract a large audience segment, or appealing to Spider-Man fans? (Heck, with record SM2 sales, PS5 customers showed their desperation. The important number is actually new console unit sales, since Sony desperately leverages its exclusive titles for marketing consoles.)
They just suck at competing in the Western marketplace. That's it. All of their failings in producing games and gaining offerings for their console are directly tied to that failure to understand the significance of even the tiniest competitive challenges.
Now, they don't have the capital to leverage their console to create a "competitor product." They didn't know how to create a "home entertainment" system, didn't try to bridge the gap between PC and Console, and got hammered by a company that arguably has a monopoly on PC environments, a gigantic cloud services arm, and a big phat wallet, resources Sony just doesn't have.
It was never a fair fight.
PS: I know this goes one-step-above game offerings and console talk, but those are the results of bigger problems.
