I'm just that good
Only if they still have loot on them. Or I wanted to take a screenshot, because the position/location/pose/etc ended up being cool or funny.
I don't "immersion" - I'm well aware I'm playing a game, so the presence of obvious game mechanics doesn't generally bother me. /shrug
some games however used to have limitations on how many objects you have in your field of view, because there more that existed the heavier it got on your computer resources. these days computers are so powerful i don't think there are a lot of games out there that remove bodies from the world, even after you leave the area. but some are likely to delete the bodies after a certain distance to conserve resources for other parts of the game instead of investing resources into remembering each individual thing on the map and the way they were before you left.
in those games that offer a delightful massacre of dead bodies and further throw a grenade into just for sick thrills, it can be satisfying for those who enjoy that sort of thing in their games.
