Oh not at all. Grim Reaper fight in CV1 is extremely easy when you know what to do.
No outside help. Found all the secrets myself beat the game. Memorized my winning password even to this day.

I got this one as part of a Christmas present that included a brand new silver Gameboy Pocket. Previously, I remember my mom asking me what kinds of games I liked. I was on an adventure game kick at the time, think King's Quest and Monkey Island, so I just said, "Adventure games". Lo and behold for Christmas I get the aforementioned Gameboy, Castlevania: The Adventure, and Final Fantasy Adventure. She really listened, even though those weren't exactly the kinds of "adventure" games I was thinking of.
Booooo, get back to the series, they are great.
My personal favorite: Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Dracula: What is a man? (throws his wine glass to the floor) A miserable little pile of secrets. But enough talk, have at you!
Sometimes I like taking a very enthusiastic midnight stroll through the woods. -Alucard (Helsing Abridged)

Looks worthy of playing.
