American accents sound the best playing games
People in the states occasionally tell me to turn my mic on. Then get p*ssy when I don't. No I won't. I refuse. I have this North-Western British accent that makes me sound like... an invalid. Like I'm stupid or retarded. I hate it. I hate my voice. I can't help the place where I was born.

We can't all be popular Youtubers or TikTokers and have nice-sounding voices that carry, are clear, and articulate, while streaming video games, you perfectly-vocalized able-to-eat-big-Macs-and-never-get-fat sound-proofed-room American gamers.

Geez. Be considerate. Everything's bigger in America, thanks for the reminder. If someone wants to stay muted, its not because they're anti-social, its because you'll HATE THEM the minute they start speaking.

train yourself to have a different voice
Then change how you enunciate. It’s not that hard.
It could be worse, you could be from Leeds.

i gave myself a new accent, i sound trans-atlantic now

ur voice is just like any other muscle. singers & thespians have 2 train up their voice in a similar way. it can take months or years of practice 2 get ur voice 2 a point ur satisfied with, but u can alter it significantly

Alos, "Youtubers and tiktokkers" are also usually using decent quality microphones. No, you don't need to spend hundreds for that, you can easily get it for under $100. Most people just don't care enough about how they sound to do it, though they'll spend extra to get the headphones with the flashing rainbow lights in them that sound like ♥♥♥♥.
I'm glad there is sombody that understands, thank you my friend.

I do love accents tho and a lot of other people too
Just be you and accept that other people just have issues understanding
I like the English and American accents but the suuuuper strong American accent used for a lot of gaming voiceovers sounds so bad to me, really grating on the ear.

Do you have an example of characters that have one of these "super strong American accents? I'm genuinely curious, because in media I've often heard a sort of stereotypical accent for other languages like German, or Russian, and then listening to actual native speakers of those languages, they sound nothing like the cartooney exaggerations I've seen on TV or in games. I'm assuming you're referring to American accents that do something similar, but I'm not sure which characters those are.
I restrict my talking cause it gets American guys too bricked up uwu
Irish people have the best accent for cussing, British for Imperial commander in a space opera. We all have a place somewhere, how the Scottish became associated with dwarves in Fantasies instead of the Welsh is beyond me.
