Have that installed on my step father's laptop, as he is not very tech savvy. I trust him with that way more than I would with even Windows.
But in all honestly the best is probably mint the few i have tried it always result in going back to windows after a week.
Thinking of trying out Fedora, the KDE spin in particular.
I'm guessing you've been looking at GNOME :P.
I plan to switch to arch though because I do want to configure every little detail and have a very minimal and clean system and also I often have an issue on mint with needing newer packages and not having them available. Plus, I get to tell people that I use Arch btw and feel superior.
