Why are people so afraid of getting "canceled" nowadays?
I usually just say what I think so why are nowadays ppl just so scared of getting "canceled", everytime you make a post anywhere it's like walking on eggs, what happened to saying whatever you think without caring about what others think?

Lots of people endorsing political violence over the weekend. It does not seem like they're afraid of getting canceled.

The first step to happiness is to stop reacting and fight other people's stupidity. People who are sincerely interested in your opinion will ask about it themselves, everyone else is not worth your time

I'm not but that's just me.

I’m not. If you’re walking on eggshells that’s on you. People either act true to themselves, consequences be damned, or they kowtow.

I´ve been cancelled many times.
Its been an advantage, since now the people that would never vote for me anyway, is not making trouble for me either.

I see the exact opposite of that. Thanks to the anonymity provided by the Internet, people feel more free than ever to expose their darkside. Irl things are different, ofc.
Nvm I don't understand the topic again

Can’t cancel me. I repost all of my content on multiple accounts and other sites.

"Canceled." What does that actually mean?

For streamers, celebs, online personalities, being canceled means their paycheck won't look so great.

For some people that are more attached to their online life than their "real" life, it means they are now forced to admit that they've probably been living in the wrong world.

But, nobody is forced to give someone a platform. Nobody should be forced to have to pay attention to someone else. People can simply decide they don't want to associate with someone and don't want to /follow, /like, and /subscribe... That's the sort of thing that people who demand attention have to understand - Nobody is required to give it.

Now, if someone is truly a victim of character assassination or some outside attempt to ruin their lives, that's a bit different and certainly breaks the assumed social mechanics. It's an artificial influence, not just normal give and take.

But, most of the cries of "cancelled" I have seen were people reacting to real controversy. And, if that's the case, why should they be forced not to?

There were people who have seen their social, and professional life reduced to atoms, their bank account account closed without possibility to open a new one which lead to be completely shadowbanned from society. All of this just for having "the wrong opinion" aka disagree with the left and their narrative.

Afraid? I just point and laugh...

I'm not.

My Instagram followers would never abandon me.

cancel culture doesn't really exist, and the people who actually do get affected more than likely actually deserved it uwu

Perhaps, but, unfortunately, there are also such things as envy and unfair competition. Many would like to get rid of a rival or person they don’t like by ruining his reputation or catching him in inappropriate behavior. Sometimes people can be very mean
