Having to change the way your character looks to appease the largest, wealthiest corporate bankers in the world is what the issue is. If you're going to try to water that down, then you're just not paying attention.
k
Uh ... that seems to be working here as well. People click their way into woke topics on forums, too.
I'm not hearing too many complaints about Stellar Blade when it comes to this so I'm having a hard time believing it. If they were forced to go woke they have some pretty weak people working there.
As for censorship and if that has anything to do with this you can blame the ESRB and the U.S. government who makes the rules on what is acceptable in games or not. It certainly isn't anyone here doing it.
I continue to say if you are making a game with it *being woke* in mind you really aren't making a game ... you are making an ideal that I won't buy.
If a certain group/s of people are trying to force you into making games a certain way then I won't buy that game, either. You take away from games when you force things into them that don't fit the game itself. If the story calls for an LGBT+ character then more power to that game. If it don't leave them the ♥♥♥♥ out.
Case in point ... when they started adding multiplayer to single player games. I stopped buying single player RPGs that had MP in them. I don't buy single player games to play with other people.
Vote with your wallet if you don't like or think you don't like what a game is doing.
Nonsense.
Listen son, I've been playing video games since the early 90s.
People are perfectly fine playing "ugly" characters in video games.
Both GTA and Red Dead Redemption manage to sell and be incredibly popular despite protagonists like Trevor Phillips, Niko Bellic, John Marston or Arthur Morgan.
We also have games like Carrion where you play as an ugly "thing" like flesh monster and that too is very popular.

So let's drop the whole "ugly" character nonsense already, OK?
We all know what this is really about:
female characters don't all look like supermodels with big boobs and big butts in ultra skimpy outfits anymore and you're butthurt about that 'cause you can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to more average/realistic looking women.
That's what this is about and nothing else.
We all know this so drop the pretense already and be honest for once.
It's not censorship and it has largely nothing to do with the ESRB et al. Most of the complaints about 'wokism' in games roots from the fact that gaming is no longer a young heterosexual male centric hobby and the industry trying to appeal the most demographics possible.
"Uglification" of women?... More like "De-Bimbofication" of women. Because EA is no longer selling men's magazines. They're selling family-friendly ones.
"Does the fictional world you created promote the things we believe should be in the real world?"
"Uh, well, it's fiction, so I'm n-"
"F!" 0/10, YOU LOSE! Our lawyers will be contacting you soon."
