Any good hero shooters that are still alive?

Overwatch 1 was my childhood. I fell in love with the artstyle, the gameplay, the community. The game was just plain fun and I loved playing custom games. Then Jeff left, and OW2 happened... So it's safe to say I need a new game to play. All I know of is TF2 but that game's P2W and riddled with bots, plus it just doesn't hit the same. I should specify that I'm looking for an arcade hero shooter so please don't recommend a game like Siege. I know it's technically a hero shooter but it's far too different from Overwatch for me to consider.

I miss OW1. OW2 didn't need to happen, except there were 'reasons'(some were not great).

Your concerns about TF2 are nothing to worry about anymore. Valve wiped out all the bots. You'll still get an occasional cheater and of course Friendlies are still a thing. Try giving it another shot.

There's some other good shooters that are on the steam store page all the time. Explore that and your discovery queue and I'm certain you'll find what you're looking for.

Valve purged the bots from TF2, but you still get the occasional cheater. Also it's free to play now. Been since 2011. Friendlies are still around and preserving the goofy spirit of TF2.

I never said the game was not F2P, it's pay to win, meaning you get an advantage if you pay money. Ffs, you're not even allowed to speak without paying. TF2 was also the first game to my knowledge to introduce lootboxes and also probably one of the worst implementations of them even to this day.

TF2 is not P2W, and they got rid of the bots.
I'm not being sarcastic, Valve got rid of the bots in TF2.

Weapons are acquired by random drops, different qualities do not make a difference in gameplay, and cosmetics provide no advantage.

Paladins : champions of the realm was an amazing hero shooter, but between the last 8 year-ish of the dev team being composed of : two graphists and nothing else, any form of bug patching is inexistant - and to top it off their bad servers overall before, now there's a DDOS attack lasting since ... 5 months now ? Game was almost unplayable before, now it's just dead in the water and it's gonna join the huge pile of dead hero shooters. "Went with a wimper" would be the epitath of that one and the official death should have been prononced literaly years ago.

If you like to feel powerful then Warframe.

It's free but not pay to win. You can get everything without "premium" currency and players can even trade for the premium currency so you can even get it without paying money by just trading drops with others.

Probably the best economy model of any free to play game.
