aquatics where they molt the entire shell or arachnids that do the same?

imagine molting and leaving behind a husk of your former self while a very soft fleshy very pink / reddish and vulnerable soft gelatinous new person came out

I already have skin problems when some skin shed so easily and thinking about my whole body going through it sounds awful :/

I only saw arachnids do it and they appear dead at first though so if i had to choose i would be snek
